The US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA's) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for several raw beef and pork products because they are misbranded and may contain an undeclared allergen: sesame. A recall was not requested because the products are no longer available for purchase.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert for various raw beef and pork products that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection and may bear a false mark of inspection. Food produced without inspection may contain undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria, or other contaminants that put consumer health and safety at risk. ANALYSIS: USDA Livestock Forecast Points to Lower Pork Production

In the USDA Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry Outlook released August 18, 2025, the pork market was adjusted a little lower. USDA now forecasts 2025 production at 27.7 billion pounds, down 0.5% from last year.

For 2026, production is forecast at 28.4 billion pounds, a modest 2.5% increase but still under last month’s estimate. The changes stem from slower hog slaughter and lighter weights, with spring PRRS disease pressures keeping supplies tighter.

367,812 Pounds of Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon Recalled Nationwide Over Listeria Concerns

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the Kraft Heinz Food Company is recalling approximately 367,812 pounds of fully cooked turkey bacon products due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, identified through laboratory testing.

The affected products were produced between April 24, 2025, and June 11, 2025. They were distributed to retail locations nationwide and exported to the British Virgin Islands and Hong Kong.

FreshRealm Recalls Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo Products Shipped to Kroger and Walmart Nationwide

FreshRealm establishments are recalling chicken fettuccine alfredo products that were distributed to Kroger and Walmart locations nationwide.

According to an announcement today from the US Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the recalled items may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes (Lm).

The recalled items include all products produced before June 17, 2025, and include the following labels:
