ANALYSIS: Argentina’s Fresh Beef Exports Dropped 7.2% in 2025 to 713,363 mt
The latest data released by Argentina’s National Institute of Statistics and Census indicated that fresh beef exports (chilled and frozen) dropped further in December, extending the downward trend that had been in place since August and mirroring the pattern observed in the previous year. Shipments declined 14.5% MOM to 56,708 mt, standing 1.8% below December 2024 levels. On a full-year basis, fresh beef exports totaled 713,363 mt, 7.2% lower than 2024 figures.
This contraction occurred against a backdrop of tighter cattle availability and a shift in export composition, with a greater focus on higher value destinations and reduced reliance on volume driven flows, particularly to China. As a result, overall shipments remained constrained throughout the second half of the year, even as global demand conditions stayed firm.

Shipments totaled 66,571 mt in October, down 7.9% compared to the previous month and 4.5% lower than...
ANALYSIS: Imported Argentine Beef to the US Figures Up YOY Ahead of Increased Quota Announcement
According to the latest Food Safety and Inspection Service Meat Passed for Entry Report, 30,300 metric tons (mt) of Argentine beef have entered the US so far in 2025. This figure represents a 13,105 mt (76.2%) increase from the same period last year.
30,300 mt is also well above the allotted 20,000 duty free quota that Argentine beef receives in the US. While this is the case, Argentina has yet to fill their quota for the year, indicating that some product...

President Trump Undercuts America’s Cattle Producers
In a misguided effort to lower the price of beef in grocery stores, President Trump said he plans to increase the volume of beef being imported from Argentina. Efforts to manipulate markets only risk damaging the livelihoods of American cattlemen and women, while doing little to impact the price consumers are paying at the grocery store.
“The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and its members cannot stand behind the President while he undercuts the future of family farmers and ranchers by importing Argentinian beef in an attempt to influence prices,” said NCBA CEO Colin Woodall...

ANALYSIS: Rains and Larger Planted Area in Argentina Could Boost Corn Output in 2025/2026
On August 20, the Buenos Aires Grains Exchange (BAGE) reported that Argentina’s planted corn area for the 2025/2026 season could rise by 9.6% year-on-year to an estimated 7.8 million hectares.
Market participants attributed the increase to improved soil moisture following abundant rainfall, with sources noting that nearly all planted areas are rated in good/excellent condition. If realized, this would be Argentina’s second-largest corn area on record, after the 8.4 million hectares in 2023/2024...

China’s antidumping investigation into imported beef will be extended until November 26, 2025, the latest announcement by China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) stated.
Originally set to conclude in August, it will now be extended by three months “due to the large workload and complex case,” as per Announcement No. 38.
The MOFCOM began the investigation on December 27, 2024, following a request from China’s Animal Agriculture Association and nine industry associations representing major beef-producing areas on behalf of the domestic beef sector...
