FSIS Issues Public Health Alert for Various Meat and Poultry Products Due To Possible Salmonella
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert for meat and poultry products containing FDA-regulated jalapeños that may be contaminated with Salmonella. FSIS expects additional downstream products will be identified as this ingredient recall progresses. As more information becomes available, FSIS will update this public health alert. Consumers should check back frequently.

Maple Leaf Foods Recalls Over 12,000 Pounds of Bacon Imported Without US Reinspection
Maple Leaf Foods Inc. is recalling about 12,036 pounds of not ready-to-eat smoked bacon products after the items were imported into the United States without undergoing required import reinspection, the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said on Friday.
The recalled products were produced in June by Maple Leaf Foods’ facility in Canada and distributed in the United States through Grocery Outlet distributors and retailers in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.
