Meats by Linz Weeks Away From Opening New Indiana Facility

Meats by Linz has crossed state lines with an investment into an expanded space in Hammond, Indiana. 

The company spent $38 million for its 120,000 square foot facility which broke ground about two years ago and is set to start business this summer.

This family business was founded in 1963 and started as a local butcher shop that supplied meat to fine Chicago restaurants.

FSIS Issues Public Health Alert for Raw Beef Product Due to Possible Foreign Matter Contamination

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert due to concerns of a raw beef product that may be contaminated with extraneous material, specifically soft, clear plastic. FSIS is issuing this public health alert to ensure that consumers are aware that this product should not be consumed. A recall was not requested because the product is no longer available for purchase.
