Tyson Foods Expanding Iconic Wright Brand Bacon Plant
Tyson Foods is investing $26 million to expand production at the iconic WRIGHT® BRAND BACON facility in Vernon, Texas. Scheduled for completion by March of 2021, the expansion is expected to create 32 new jobs, bringing the total employment at the plant to more than 800.
“This project is great news for our plant, our community and our customers,” said Dane Bonfy, manager of the Wright Brand plant. “We love the Vernon community and look forward to growing our team with the additional positions and meeting the growing demand for our products.”

Cal-Maine Foods Announces $40.1 Million Capital Project to Expand Cage-Free Production in Kentucky
Cal-Maine Foods announced that its Board of Directors has approved a $40.1 million capital project to expand the Company’s cage-free egg production at its Guthrie, Kentucky, production facility. The project will include related site work and the additional infrastructure to convert existing conventional capacity to house approximately 1.5 million cage-free hens and 300,000 pullets.

Sysco’s FreshPoint Central Florida Expands Facility
Sysco Corporation today announced that it will host a grand opening ceremony and open house for government officials, customers, associates and other members of the community at its FreshPoint Central Florida facility on Jan. 22, 2020 from 11:00am to 2:00pm EST. FreshPoint, Sysco’s specialty produce company, is North America’s leading produce distributor.
The event will celebrate the completion of the expanded, state-of-the-art 150,000 square foot facility, which has doubled in size and features environmentally-friendly specifications, and include a ribbon cutting, facility tour, food demonstrations, tastings and more.
