Perdue Farms' Indiana Facility Achieves GreenCircle Zero Waste to Landfill Certification
Perdue Farms announced today that its food-producing facility in Washington, Ind. has earned GreenCircle Zero Waste to Landfill certification, making it the first U.S. turkey processing facility and third Perdue facility to earn this important third-party environmental validation. During the audit period between May 2021-April 2022, GreenCircle validated that the Indiana operation diverted 100 percent of its waste from going to landfills starting in January of 2022, and kept nearly 155 million pounds from landfills during the total audit period.

Tyson Foods’ Plants Mark Zero Waste to Landfill Milestone
Tyson Foods announced that six of its plants have achieved Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWTL) Gold level validation. These efforts were validated by UL to UL 2799 Environmental Claim Validation Procedure (ECVP) for ZWTL.
Tyson Foods’ facilities were recognized for reducing the production of all by-products like animal fats, hides and inedible proteins and reusing or recycling the remaining by-products to support conservation and efficiency. By achieving this zero-waste vision, facilities will reduce or eliminate their dependence on landfills to help save costs.
