NRF Reiterates White House Call for Congressional Action to Avoid Rail Strike

The National Retail Federation today issued the following statement from President and CEO Matthew Shay following the White House’s call for immediate congressional intervention to avoid a rail strike and subsequent shut down of the U.S. freight rail system. The directive comes as the cooling off period expires Dec. 8 and railroads begin to suspend operations ahead of a labor strike.

Thanksgiving Turkeys Will Be More Expensive This Year

Kroger Joins White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition and Health

The Kroger Co., America's largest grocery retailer, outlined new efforts in its quest to fight hunger and create healthier communities during the Conference on Hunger, Nutrition and Health convened by President Joe Biden.

NCBA Extremely Disappointed with White House Biotechnology Executive Order

Today, the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) raised questions on President Biden’s Executive Order on Advancing Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing Innovation for a Sustainable, Safe, and Secure American Bioeconomy, following its release last week.

Biden to Take Side on Gas Tax Soon

President Biden said Monday that he may make a decision within days on seeking a pause to the federal gasoline tax as Americans deal with soaring gas prices.

"I hope to have a decision based on the data I'm looking for by the end of the week," he said in Rehoboth Beach, Del.
