The North American Meat Institute (Meat Institute) today called for the U.S. Senate to pass a bipartisan bill to address unreasonable ocean carrier practices that are undermining competitiveness of American exporters including the meat and poultry industry. The National Retail Federation today issued the following statement from Senior Vice President of Government Relations David French after the U.S. House of Representatives voted to approve the Ocean Shipping Reform Act (OSRA) of 2021. Industry Reaction: House Passes Ocean Shipping Reform Act Amid Supply Chain Crisis
The United States House of Representatives passed the Ocean Shipping Reform Act on December 8, a bill described as the “first major overhaul of federal regulations for the global shipping industry” in over three decades.
