The cost of purchasing a turkey could be lower this Thanksgiving, thanks to a drop in avian influenza cases and a recovery of the turkey population in the United States. Industry Reaction to Supreme Court's Proposition 12 Backing

On May 11, 2023, the U.S. Supreme Court backed California's Proposition 12 in a 5-4 decision. The law was first approved by California voters in 2018. Proposition 12 requires veal calves, breeding pigs, and egg-laying hens to be housed in systems that comply with specific housing standards.
