ANALYSIS: China Confirms Brazil Hits 80% of Its 2026 Beef Safeguard Quota
China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) announced that Brazil had utilized 80% of its 2026 beef import safeguard quota as of July 21, equivalent to 884,800 metric tons (MT) of its annual 1.106 million MT allocation.
The confirmation aligns with market expectations, especially after shipments to China accelerated over the last months amid rapid quota fulfilling. The 50% milestone was hit earlier this year on May 9.
