Total ground beef sales in the eight days leading up to and including July 4 declined 0.7% year over year, falling from $583.9 million in 2025 to $579.6 million in 2026, according to Circana scanner data. However, this modest sales decline masks a significant shift in consumer purchasing patterns, as total distribution volume dropped 8.5% to 376,247 units from 411,200 units.
