ANALYSIS: US Chicken Exports Rebound 7% Above Previous Year
Total exports of US chicken in May rose 7.0% year-over-year (YOY) and 6.2% month-over-month (MOM), compared with a 5-year average MOM increase of 0.9% from April to May. The result marks a sharp reversal from April's 7.0% YOY decline and represents a seasonally strong outflow of U.S. production. The recovery was concentrated, however. Taiwan's outsized surge carried much of the aggregate gain while the Philippines continued to deteriorate sharply.
