China's livestock sector sustained its strong upward trajectory through the first half of 2026, building on a record-breaking 2025 with robust mid-year production gains.
According to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), a steady recovery in pork volumes and continued expansion in poultry output remain the primary drivers of the industry's growth.
The total national output of pork, beef, mutton, and poultry reached 50.50 million metric tons during the first six months of the year, representing a 4.3% year-on-year (YOY) increase.
