ANALYSIS: Australia’s April 2026 Beef Exports Reach Fourth-Highest on Record Under Safeguard Pressure
Australia’s beef export momentum showed no signs of slowing in April 2026, with year-to-date (YTD) shipments climbing to 506,142 metric tons (MT), according to the latest data from Australia's Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF).
While April’s monthly volume of 140,943 MT retreated 6.0% from the record high set in March, it remained 10.8% higher than April 2025.
This performance cements the strongest start to a calendar year on record and represents the fourth-highest monthly volume ever recorded.
