ANALYSIS: US 2026 Beef Supply Squeeze Deepens Ahead of Grilling Season
Looking at overall cattle slaughter last week heading into the Easter weekend, USDA data shows the second-lowest slaughter volume for this time of year going back to 1999. Total harvest came in at 533,000 head, with the only lower figure recorded in 2015, another period when cattle inventories were at a similar point in the cycle.
