ANALYSIS: Weak Yen Sinks Japan’s Feb 2026 Beef Imports; US Reclaims Top Share
Japan’s beef imports fell to a 12-month low of 30,712 metric tons (MT) in February, according to the Trade Statistics of Japan.
This represented a sharp 22.8% month-on-month (MOM) drop for the world’s third-largest beef buyer as a punishingly weak yen stifled fresh procurement.
