ANALYSIS: China’s Jan-Feb 2026 Total Meat Imports Dip 1.2% YOY to 1.08M MT
China’s total meat imports (including offal meats) for the month of January to February 2026 eased 1.2% from a year ago totaling 1.08 million metric tons (MT), according to preliminary data from the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC).
Beef imports (including offals) totaled around 640,000 MT, rising a sharp 37.6% year on year (YOY) while other key animal proteins such as pork, mutton and lamb, and poultry fell.
In 2025, China’s total meat imports clocked in at 6.08 million MT, 8.7% lower YOY.
