Veteran of the Food Industry, Ronnie Nelson, Passes Away
Ronnie Nelson, veteran of the food industry and an integral part of the greater NYC food distribution network, passed away this past Wednesday June 19th, at 82 years old.
Mr. Nelson, Ronnie as he was affectionately known, began working at Ace Packing right after graduating from Babson College. Ace Packing was his father’s wholesale meat and provisions store in the Harlem meat market in NYC. Ronnie introduced poultry into the lineup of the family business.
Ron became a key player in the business and a regular at trade shows, including the annual Atlanta based event, now known as IPPE, dating back to when it was held in Kansas City. His last show was 2007 when he retired. In the mid 1980’s he...
