Asda's Market Share Falls to New Record Low
ASDA has suffered a bleak Christmas after its market share fell to a fresh low.
The retailer's market share fell to 11.4pc in the 12 weeks to Dec 28, according to industry tracker Worldpanel - the lowest it has been over a Christmas period and the worst on record.
The slump came as sales at the grocer tumbled by 4.2pc, according to Worldpanel fgures. Asda was the only major supermarket to suffer a drop in sales over the festive period and December marked its 22nd consecutive month of decline.
