EU Targets Business Barriers to Enhance Competitiveness Amid US Tariffs
The European Commission set out plans on Wednesday to remove barriers to business within the European Union as part of a push to boost competitiveness and counteract the impact of U.S. tariffs.
The International Monetary Fund has estimated that internal EU barriers are equivalent to tariffs of 44% for goods and 110% for services, far higher than the import duties set by U.S. President Donald Trump.
