ANALYSIS: Chicken Production Continues to Set New Watermark
2025 is shaping up as a landmark year for US chicken production. Cumulative ready-to-cook (RTC) tonnage has reached 34.4 billion pounds, surpassing any prior record and outpacing 2024 by 1.19 billion pounds. The weekly data also remains strong. For the week ending October 11, RTC tonnage hit 888 million pounds, which is 40 million pounds above the 5-year average. This theoretically equates to roughly 1,000 additional truckloads of production.
