Maple Leaf Foods to Consolidate US Plant Protein Production to Indianapolis
On September 22, the team at Ontario-based Maple Leaf Foods announced the upcoming closure at plant protein manufacturing sites in Seattle, Washington and Turners Falls, Massachusetts, according to a press release.
So, the move will consolidate all US production into a single "Centre of Excellence" at the company’s Indianapolis, Indiana plant. The transition will occur in phases over 12 to 18 months, with completion targeted for Q4 2027; both legacy sites will continue operating throughout the transfer to maintain customer service continuity.
