ANALYSIS: Korea's July 2026 Beef Imports Fall as Safeguard Cycle Draws to a Close
Korea's beef imports totalled 41,446 metric tons (MT) in July 2026, down 5.0% year-on-year (YOY) from 43,634 MT in July 2025, according to Korea Customs Service data.
The result marks the first monthly YOY decline since October 2025 and was also marginally softer month-on-month (MOM), down 0.2% from June's 41,539 MT, reflecting a structural rotation in buying patterns as the Korea-Australia Free Trade Agreement (KAFTA) safeguard front-loading cycle that defined H1 2026 came to a close.
