Brazil's Rio Grande do Sul Confirms Avian Influenza Case in Backyard Flock
The Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul has registered its first confirmed case of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in backyard poultry, in the municipality of Coqueiros do Sul, located in the northwest region of the state. The diagnosis was confirmed by the Federal Agricultural Defense Laboratory in Campinas on Friday, July 17, according to the Government of Rio Grande do Sul.
