UK Shop Price Inflation Speeds Up in January Amid High Energy Charges
UK shop price inflation accelerated in January amid high energy costs for businesses owners, data published by the British Retail Consortium and NielsenIQ showed Tuesday.
Annual shop price inflation was 1.5% in January, accelerated from 0.7% in December and above the three-month average of 0.9%.
Non-food prices climbed 0.3% on-year in January, after a decline of 0.6% in December and compared to the three-month average of a 0.3% fall.
