US Corn Stocks Set December 1 Record After Huge Harvest, USDA Says
U.S. farmers and grain companies held the most corn in storage ever as of December 1, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said on Monday, after growers last year harvested a record-breaking crop that was even bigger than previously expected.
In a quarterly report, the USDA pegged December 1 stocks at 13.282 billion bushels, up from 12.075 billion bushels a year earlier. Analysts expected 12.962 billion bushels, according to a Reuters poll.
The agency pegged corn production at 17.021 billion bushels in a monthly report
