Cracker Barrel Cuts Corporate Staff
Cracker Barrel is laying off several dozen corporate employees as the family-dining chain seeks to trim expenses following plunging sales.
The Lebanon, Tenn.-based chain notified corporate employees of the layoffs Thursday.
Cracker Barrel said during an investor call in December that it was seeking to save $20 million to $25 million in annual spending by streamlining its corporate support center, including through layoffs during the current quarter. The company last month reported a steep decline in quarterly sales and profit.
