New SNAP Food Restrictions Take Effect in Nebraska, Four Other States
Nebraskans who get government help paying for groceries will not be able to buy pop or energy drinks with those benefits as the new year begins.
The state joins Indiana, Iowa, Utah and West Virginia as the first of at least 18 states to enact waivers prohibiting the purchase of certain foods through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP.
