WA Sees Bird Flu Cases in Backyard Flocks; WSDA Lists Signs of Avian Influenza, Biosecurity Tips
Washington had nine instances of highly pathogenic avian influenza from mid-November through mid-December, though all of those were in backyard flocks and 290 birds were affected, according to USDA data.
In the same time period, Oregon had two instances of bird flu in backyard flocks that impacted 20 birds, while Idaho and California had zero outbreaks of the disease in flocks.
However, California had an instance of an infected dairy herd on Nov. 26.
