Amick Farms Plans $74M Expansion; Poultry Business Investing in Laurel Facility
Amick Farms, a major poultry processor, will invest $74.5 million to expand its Laurel facility, a move expected to create about 190 new jobs, company and state officials have announced.
Based in Batesburg, South Carolina, Amick Farms acquired the Laurel production site in 2021. With the planned expansion, the facility's processing capacity is projected to grow from 800,000 to roughly 1.1 million chickens per week over the next three years, according to the company.
