Kroger: Next CEO Will Be an Outsider
Kroger will announce its next CEO in first quarter of 2026 almost a year after the abrupt resignation by Rodney McMullen, the company said Dec. 4.
Interim CEO Ron Sargent told Wall Street analysts on a conference call discussing third quarter results that the board had talked with multiple candidates and confirmed the Cincinnati-based grocer's next leader would be an outsider.
Nine months and counting
"We're engaged in a thorough process and expect to announce a new CEO during the first quarter of 2026," Sargent told analysts, indicating the new leader would be named sometime between February and May of 2026 at the start of the retailer's fiscal year...
