South Africa's Citrus Regions Face Drought Concerns Despite Strong Export Season
South Africa's Western Cape province received only 15% of typical October rainfall in major citrus-growing regions. The low moisture during flowering could challenge oranges, lemons and limes, said Expana in its recent Global Weather Report - October 2025.
Dry conditions could reduce blooms and hinder fruit set, affecting fruit growth and quality for the following harvest. A lack of rain could also damage trees and cause mature fruits to split and drop off.
