JBS to Pay $1.1M to Settle False Advertising Claim About Environmental Commitment
JBS's U.S. subsidiary will pay $1.1 million to settle with the New York Attorney General over allegedly misleading the public about its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint.
Attorney General Letitia James sued the meat producer in 2024. JBS was advertising it would reach net-zero greenhouse-gas emissions by 2040, but an investigation by James's office found the company had no plan to achieve that goal.
