Tanzania Cashew Auction Postponed Because of Post-Election Violence
Tanzania, the largest cashew producer in East Africa, was set to start the cashew auctions on October 31 in the Tandahimba district, according to the Cashew Board of Tanzania. But market participants confirmed to Expana that the auctions have been postponed.
“Violence will not continue for too long; I do not expect a big impact on the market,” a broker said. “This is unlikely to influence the market unless the auction start is delayed beyond next week,” a trader added.
