Scotland: Sensors Trial to Boost Beef Herd Health
Banff and Buchan monitor farmer Bruce Irvine is trialling new electronic rumen bolus technology in his suckler cow herd to give more breeding, health and welfare information.
Mr Irvine is among the first beef producers to trial the system and has fitted the boluses to 100 of his summer calving Stabilisers.
He hopes the technology will offer improved detection of bulling, cattle illness and calving management.
