Shoppers Are Turning to Prepared Meals More; Competition for 'A Share of the Stomach' Heats Up
When Sidney Martin is looking for a quick and affordable dinner for her mom and daughter, she is increasingly stopping by the grocery store to pick up a prepared meal. It might be a rotisserie chicken, pot pie or stuffed salmon and she will make the sides at home.
"I feel like it is cheaper than buying it to go because the amount you're going to spend now with the way fast-food prices are, you're going to spend way more," said Martin, 31, of Riverside, California.
