Stevens Proposes Grocery Tariff Ban
Saying President Donald Trump's "reckless" use of tariffs is driving up consumer costs, US Rep. Haley Stevens is proposing Congress prohibit the White House from raising taxes on imported food and agricultural products without the US House and Senate signing off on it first.
Talking to reporters on Sept. 17, Stevens, D-Birmingham, said she will soon introduce what she is calling her "No Tariffs on Groceries Act."
