EU Must Advance Merger Policy Review, Von der Leyen Says
The European Union has to advance its review of how its merger rules are applied, European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen said, as former ECB head Mario Draghi called for a fast-track process.
The commission's competition regulator is in the middle of reworking its merger guidelines, which spells out how bureaucrats apply EU legislation on mergers and acquisitions. Officials sought feedback on the guidelines over the summer and the process is currently slated to be wrapped up by 2027...
