Europe Adopts Regenerative Agriculture Cmid Climate Crisis Damage
Annual losses of 65 billion euros (approximately 105 trillion won) occur each year. This is the scale of damage inflicted on Europe by severe droughts, wildfires, heatwaves, and other climate-related disasters. As economic damage from this climate crisis continues to grow in Europe, a movement toward "regenerative agriculture" has begun to take root.
According to a report published on the 3rd in the international academic journal *Nature*, there is a growing trend in Europe to avoid using artificial fertilizers and tilling farmland. Instead, methods such as covering fields with wood chips or rice straw to retain soil moisture and suppress weeds are being adopted. ¡ÞChanging Farming Methods Amid Growing Damage According to *Nature*, a farm near the village of Penha Garcia east of Portugal has begun to almost completely stop using artificial fertilizers. Instead, they have started planting yellow lupine flowers intermittently.
