South Africa to Offer US a Revised Trade Deal on Tuesday
South Africa will submit a revised offer for a trade deal to Washington on Tuesday, the trade minister said, in an effort to lower the 30% tariff rate U.S. President Donald Trump imposed on exports to the United States last week.
The government of Africa's biggest economy has tried for months to negotiate a U.S. trade deal but failed to reach agreement before Trump's deadline.
