After steeper threat, deal sets 15% baseline tariff on largest U.S. trading partner
President Trump said the U.S. reached a trade deal with the European Union, imposing a 15% baseline tariff on most goods from America's largest trading partner.
Trump said the new deal includes an EU agreement to buy $750 billion of U.S. energy products and invest an additional $600 billion in the U.S. The EU said some products like aircraft and semiconductor equipment won't face tariffs.
