ANALYSIS: China’s 1H 2025 Beef Imports Slumps 9.5% YOY to 1.30M mt
China’s total beef imports shrunk 9.5% to 1,302,197 metric tons (mt) in the first half of the 2025 calendar year, according to the latest data from the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC).
Shipments declined by 136,640 mt, led by lower volumes from most major suppliers. Australia was the exception, partially offsetting the overall drop.
