Countries Ease Poultry Bans After Brazil Clears Bird Flu Case
At least six countries that suspended Brazilian poultry imports in May have now lifted their restrictions. The change follows last week’s recognition by the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) that Brazil has regained its bird flu-free status in commercial flocks.
According to Marcel Moreira, deputy secretary for Trade and International Relations at the Ministry of Agriculture, South Korea, Bolivia, Morocco, Sri Lanka, the Dominican Republic, and Iraq have ended the ban that had affected exports from all regions of Brazil.
