Most Brazilians Consider 'Unacceptable' Eggs Coming from Caged Hens, Survey Shows
Eggs laid by caged hens, a system of production that prevails in Brazil, is considered "unacceptable" by 81% of people interviewed in a survey commissioned by Mercy For Animals (MFA), a global non-profit organization that promotes animal rights.
The results of the national survey, conducted in March by Ipsos and shared with Reuters on Monday, also showed that more than 80% of respondents believe that food companies should support farmers in the transition to cage-free systems, which are less cruel to birds.
