Cold Storage: End June Combined Meat/Poultry +1.2% on Month, -1.8% on Year
USDA monthly cold storage data released Tuesday showed combined meat and poultry stocks held in the nation's freezer warehouses at the end of June at 2.201 billion pounds, up about 1.2% from the previous month but 1.8% less than a year ago.
Pork and beef were below the previous month while chicken and turkey stocks were larger. Chicken and turkey were above their year-ago figures while pork and beef were smaller. The combined stocks were 2.8% below the five-year average of 2.264 billion pounds...
