Stock Futures Add to Midweek Gains Following Latest GDP, Jobless Claims Data
U.S. stocks extended their midweek gains early Thursday ahead of a fresh round of gross domestic product (GDP) data for the fourth quarter and initial jobless claims data.
As of 8:00 a.m. eastern time, futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average were up 0.6% while the S&P 500 was also 0.6% higher. The Nasdaq-100 was 0.5% higher. The three main indices closed with gains ranging from 1% to 1.8% Wednesday.
