Thousands out of Work as Fire Destroys Amick Farms Chicken Plant in Rural SC
A fire over the weekend destroyed the Amick Farms poultry plant in Batesburg-Leesville, leaving thousands out of work at the Midlands area's largest employer.
Emergency crews are investigating the incident as an electrical cause and do not believe foul play was involved, Saluda County Sheriff Josh Price told The Post and Courier. No one was injured.
