Canada: Many Unknowns Ahead After Record 2025 for Beef Producers
While 2025 started out with a high level of uncertainty for GreyBruce beef producers due to U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff threats, it ended as a banner year with record-high prices.
But looking forward into 2026, some volatility is expected in the market, with factors such as the upcoming renegotiation of the Canada-U.S.-Mexico free trade agreement, and the potential reopening of the U.S. border to Mexican cattle imports after it was slammed shut in May due to a screwworm outbreak.
