Fire at Korean Pig Farm; Over 18,000 Animal Casualties
In the early hours of 25th March, a fire erupted at a Korean pig farm located 50 kilometers south of Seoul, run by a farming cooperative in Icheon-si. Over 16,000 piglets and 2,300 sows were killed in the event.
The fire broke out at 5:45 am with three out of six pig barns being burnt down, as reported by Korean media sources.
No human casualties were reported.
Poultry Truck Catches Fire in Maryland
A poultry truck in transport caught fire Tuesday on Route 50 in Maryland.
The Salisbury, Hebron and Mardela Springs fire companies worked together to extinguish flames and pump the rest of the diesel fuel from the truck to evacuate it safely.
Details are still unclear on what sparked the fire and whether chickens were on board.
