The USDA released its Prospective Plantings report on March 31, noting that hopes for drought relief fizzled during the first couple months of 2022. With the generally dry start to the new year, there was little overall change in the western drought depiction. Also, drought coverage across the south continued to climb, reaching 59.2% in March.
